Dwayne Peaslee Technical Training Center 

Recognized as the largest provider of apprenticeships in Kansas, Peaslee Tech meets the current and future needs of our area’s employers by training a diverse student body of 2,900 in a variety of programs and certifications that can lead to jobs.  

Peaslee Tech is a public, non-profit organization and was itself the successful result of a consortium of partners that included the Lawrence EDC, the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, the Chamber of Commerce, local industries, and private donors

The Chamber / Economic Development Corporation of Lawrence & Douglas County

The Lawrence Chamber/EDC collaborates with area economic development partners to attract, expand, and retain a continuous growth of business in our community. These efforts are coordinated with the City of Lawrence and follow comprehensive, strategic plans to increase jobs, payroll, and investment, enabling economic prosperity for all the citizens of Lawrence and Douglas County.

University of Kansas Innovation Park 

KU Innovation Park, located adjacent to the University of Kansas, is an incubator-style environment with support services that allow technology and bioscience-based industries to develop and grow. KUIP facilities feature customized laboratory and office space, as well as a ready pipeline of talent through Lawrence’s colleges and universities.

KU Innovation Park became a reality through a special partnership consisting of the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, University of Kansas, and the local business community via the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce.

Lawrence Music Alliance

Helping to promote and advocate for the local music ecosystem is the Lawrence Music Alliance. A volunteer organization, LMA works with public and for-profit interests to further develop our music scene, benefit independent musicians and music industry workers, and contribute to the economic and cultural vibrancy of Lawrence.

Kansas Commerce

The Kansas Department of Commerce develops strong partnerships and relationships to empower individuals, businesses, and communities, like Lawrence, to achieve new, innovative levels of prosperity. Working with corporations, site location consultants, and stakeholders statewide, Commerce provides business resources, services, and economic development support for urban and rural communities, along with metropolitan areas. Tourism is also vital to the Kansas economy, and Kansas Commerce is a great advocate for The Sunflower State as a travel destination with much to offer.
