East Hills Business Park

A cooperative effort in the 1980s by Douglas County Development, Inc. (DCDI) – including the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, and the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce – to create a high-quality industrial and business park to attract businesses and jobs to the community began with the identification and purchase of the 300-acre Miller farm.

Located east of Lawrence along K-10, a four-lane highway connecting Lawrence and the Kansas City metro, the farm became what is now known as East Hills Business Park (EHBP). Amarr, the first company to locate in East Hills, broke ground on June 15, 1989. Today, Prosoco, Grandstand, Maximus, K&M Tire, Schlenk Metallic Pigments, Plastikon, and the KU Architecture Warehouse also operate facilities in East Hills, generating many private sector jobs and economic opportunities for the community.
