Lawrence Station is served by Amtrak’s Southwest Chief train, traveling between Chicago and Los Angeles. The current Lawrence Station was built in 1956 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2018. The original station was built by the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway in 1883.

Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is located just 45 minutes from downtown Lawrence and offers nonstop flights to over 55 cities in the U.S. The airport, also known as KCI by frequent travelers, sees more than 11.5 million passengers annually and can get you to either U.S. coast in an average of three hours. KC International Airport continues to grow and offers expanded air service at its million-square-foot single terminal and 6,300-space parking structure.
